Women’s Voices for the Earth

Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE) is a national, environmental health and justice organization that engages women to advocate for the right to live in a healthy environment.

WVE seeks to reduce and ultimately eliminate environmental pollutants that cause health problems for women, their families and communities. To this end, WVE creates opportunities for women to influence environmental decision-making.

Unfortunately, there are some 85,000 chemicals in the consumer marketplace, and only a fraction of them have ever been tested for their impact on human health. Many of these chemicals are now known or suspected to contribute to a long list of diseases including cancer, developmental disabilities, heart disease, infertility and reproductive harm.

WVE’s goal is to educate the public about the harmful effects of chemicals, particularly those that affect women, and provide them with the tools they need to protect themselves and effectively advocate for a healthy environment.

The good news is that women are convincing major corporations and political decision-makers that we can and should do better.

Reporters have tagged them 21st century Tupperware parties, DIY parties and BYOJ parties (bring your own jars). Whatever you call them, our Green Cleaning Parties are a fabulous and fun way to protect your health.
Women’s Voices for the Earth believes keeping a clean home shouldn't put you or your family at risk for asthma, birth defects or infertility. Until companies come clean about what’s in their products, we think you should make your own.
